time coding tips

Holidays are automatically entered for exempt and CTM employees. Non-exempt employees must enter holidays in your time sheet. Time administrators enter holidays for hourly employees. If you're eligible for the Personal Choice Holiday (PCH), you need to enter this time off on your time sheet using the Holiday – Personal Choice absence code.

Chevron recognizes fixed date holidays in each operating area according to local significance. Fixed holidays observed may vary depending on work schedule. Up to two floating holidays, called a Personal Choice Holiday (PCH), may also be available, depending on the local holiday schedule.

Locations choosing to follow a holiday schedule different than the San Francisco Bay Area, Houston and Others can have their schedule added to this page by emailing it to emplcompliance@chevron.com

The Personal Choice Holiday (PCH), if part of your local holiday schedule, can be taken on a day of significance to you. It should be scheduled with your supervisor and taken every year. During your initial year of hire, you will be eligible for the PCH if your employment begins before July 1

  • If you're on a schedule that receives two PCHs per year and your employment begins:
    • Before July 1, you will be eligible for both PCHs during your initial year.
    • Between July 1 and September 30, you will be eligible for one PCH during your initial year.
    • On or after October 1, you will not be eligible for a PCH during your initial year.
  • If you're on a schedule that receives one PCH per year and your employment begins:
    • Before July 1, you will be eligible for the PCH during your initial year.
    • On or after July 1, you will not be eligible for a PCH during your initial year.
