Chevron recently acquired Hess. As part of integration efforts, effective January 1, 2026, Hess benefits will transition to Chevron benefits, and the administration of COBRA benefits will transition from Empyrean to BenefitConnect | COBRA.
As a result, there are important changes coming to your current COBRA plans, billing, payment and enrollment process. You will also have the opportunity to choose your Chevron COBRA benefits for 2026 in an upcoming special enrollment period.
Please watch for additional communications to arrive directly from the new COBRA administrator, BenefitConnect | COBRA, in December. These communications will provide detailed information about your new coverage including premiums and plan choices for 2026, enrollment information, and what you need to do.
medical overview
Chevron provides access to several medical and dental plan choices. With choice comes more flexibility to find a plan that best aligns with how you prefer to use, pay and save for health care.
All plans share several important features:
- Chevron shares the monthly premium cost with you
- Coverage for preventive care services
- Medical plans include access to medical, prescription drug, basic vision, and behavioral health services.
- Dental plans include coverage for diagnostic, basic restorative, major dental care and orthodontia.
The plans are different in three key areas:
- Provider choice
- Your out-of-pocket expenses
- Your options to save for health care
If you enroll in health benefits, you also may enroll your eligible dependents for coverage under the same medical, dental, vision and certain other health benefit plans. Eligible dependents include your spouse or domestic partner and eligible children.
If you enroll dependents in health coverage, you will be required to follow our dependent verification process. This means you must submit certain documentation that verifies your dependents are eligible for coverage.
Plan ahead:
These plans prioritize provider choice. With a PPO plan, you can visit any provider, network or out-of-network. You’ll save money when you use a network provider, but you still have the choice to go out-of-network for your care at any time. In exchange for this choice, these plans usually have higher deductibles (the amount you pay before your insurance starts covering costs).
Chevron Medical PPO Plan
Separate deductibles for medical and prescription drugs. Compatible with a health flexible spending account (Health FSA).

Chevron Dental PPO Plan
These plans prioritize how you spend health care dollars. HMO plans typically have lower deductibles and copayments which can lower your costs at the time of service. However, you must use a network provider for services to be covered (except for emergencies). You’ll choose a primary care provider who manages and coordinates your care needs, including referrals to specialists. The enrollment system will display the HMOs available to you (if any) based on your zip code.
Chevron Dental HMO Plan
Chevron Medical HMO Plans
Deductible varies by plan. Compatible with a health flexible spending account (Health FSA).
If you enroll in a Chevron medical plan, your coverage automatically includes basic vision service at no additional premium cost. The Chevron Vision Plus Program provides expanded coverage that goes beyond the basic vision included with medical. You must enroll to be covered; you’ll pay the full premium cost for coverage.

SET UP PERSONAL EMAIL
When you created an account, you were allowed to use any email of your choice – a Chevron email or a personal email.
- If your account uses a personal email, no further action is required.
- If you created an account using your Chevron email address, action is required.
You can continue to use your Chevron email to log in to BenefitConnect even after you leave Chevron. However, you will not be able to access your Chevron email account later for site security or other site functions. For this reason, you should update the email you use to access the website to a personal email account. You can change the email account yourself, prior to leaving Chevron:
- Log in to BenefitConnect either with automatic login or with a password, it's your choice.
- Click your name in the upper right corner of the home page
- Choose My Account.
- You can also call the HR Service Center for assistance with changing a Chevron email to a personal email for account access.
