webmd tobacco cessation resources

WebMD® Tobacco Cessation Specialty Coaching provided through the Healthy You program combines 12 weeks of one-on-one telephonic coaching and integrated online resources to help eligible participants successfully stop using tobacco products. WebMD Tobacco Cessation Specialty Coaching is available to Chevron employees who are eligible to participate in the Healthy You program. Take the Healthy You program health questionnaire (HQ) to get started.

When you log in to your Healthy You account, you can start the Quit Tobacco plan from the list offered by the Daily Habits tool. Daily Habit plans provides an interactive, online approach to work on daily and one-time activities to help you form healthy habits. It’s like a digital health coach in your pocket. Daily interaction is encouraged to track your progress for this 90-day plan. Start by setting a quit day, then check your progress daily. You can also use the Tobacco Tracker to record your tobacco use each day and pair this with other quit tobacco resources, like Tobacco Cessation Coaching.
 
To get started, log in to your Healthy You account, go to the Daily Habits tab, then select the Quit Tobacco plan. Note that you can only have three active Daily Habit plans at a time. If you’ve already signed up for three plans, you may need to discard one to see the Quit Tobacco option. 

Your Healthy You account can provide helpful information to help you quit tobacco. 

Make sure your interests selected include Quitting Tobacco.

  • Log in to your Healthy You account.
  • Choose the My Health tab.
  • Directly below your name banner are tabs that include interest areas. If you don't see Tobacco listed, click edit and choose Quitting Tobacco from the list of interest options. 
  • This will ensure relevant information is prioritized for you on your My Health tab. 

You’ll then be able to find news and information along with links to message board exchanges where you can discuss tobacco-related health topics with people who have similar interests and concerns.

Extended Health Care (EHC) Plan

Your Extended Health Care (EHC) Plan (if enrolled) provides assistance for smoking cessation prescription medication, such as bupropion (Zyban) or varenicline (Champix). There is a $250 lifetime maximum per person.

  • The Ready Set Stop audiotape series: This resource is available free of charge to employees. Send an email to wellness@chevron.com to have these materials sent to you.
  • The No-Nag, No-Guilt Do-It-Your-Own-Way Guide to Quitting Smoking book: Available free of charge to employees. Send an email to wellness@chevron.com to have this book sent to you.
  • Over the counter Nicotine Replacement Therapy: Talk to your doctor about Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) options, and if they may be right for you. Charges incurred by the purchase of NRT are not reimbursable and not covered by Chevron.

  • Secure Message Online  Log in to your Healthy You account, look for a Coach Connect button (if you completed the HQ) or Coaching from the top right corner navigation. Coaches will typically respond to your message within 24 hours.

By phone, the number of times a coach will call you will be determined by your health status; you can call a coach as often as you would like. Coaching calls generate from Indiana, USA.
