The Healthy Heart program is an important component of the health and wellness resources offered by Chevron. Healthy Heart helps work toward long-term heart health by providing education about risk factors for heart disease and supporting healthy lifestyle choices. The program offers resources for ongoing heart health including a website managed by WebMD, telephonic health coaching, rewards, and a variety of personalized online tools and resources.

Cardiovascular disease is one of the greatest health risks within our global workforce. Helping employees to recognize and reduce their individual risk factors for the disease can have a long-term positive effect on our employees, our business, and our health care costs. This program focuses on heart health, but provides additional resources to help you work toward improving overall health and wellness.

The Healthy Heart website is a resource available to employees who are eligible to participate in the Healthy Heart program. The site is managed by WebMD, one of the leading sources of health information. It contains the health questionnaire and a variety of tools that can be customized to your individual needs. The Healthy Heart website was designed to give users a customized experience based on their personal health profiles. Each time you log in to the secure and confidential site, you'll see a homepage that suggests actions and content specifically for you. The more often your use the website, the more personalized your experience becomes. The site is located through hr2.chevron.com/heart.

The Healthy Heart website gives you access to most of the standard WebMD.com tools, but adds unique resources such as the health questionnaire, the interactive My Health Assistant and Health Topics, which are not available on the public site. You can also start a Personal Health Record to house all your important information in one place, schedule time with your telephonic health coach, and qualify for rewards and challenges created for Chevron employees. The Healthy Heart website is sponsored by Chevron for Chevron employees, so you'll never see the advertisements that appear on WebMD.com.

The Healthy Heart program supplements your regular examinations and provides additional perspective about your health. It does not replace regular visits to your health care provider and it's recommended that you share the results of your health questionnaire with your own regular health care provider.

Go to hr2.chevron.com/heart, at work or at home. Then follow the instructions on the screen to access the website and register for the first time. 

  • If you are an employee connected to the Chevron intranet using a GIL workstation or Chevron remote access, you can use the automatic sign-in feature. 
  • If you are not connected to the Chevron intranet, you will be prompted to register with your CAI and your HR GUID. Please note that you can only find your HR GUID on WhitePages while you're connected to the Chevron intranet. If you plan to register on the site from home, be sure to locate your HR GUID using these instructions and record the number for use later.

Health rewards are Chevron’s way of recognizing your personal commitment to get and stay healthy. Health rewards vary from year to year. Visit Health Rewards for information about the current offering. On the WebMD Healthy Heart website, you can manage your wellness activities which are a qualification requirement for heath rewards.

Your spouse, domestic partner and child dependents age 18 years and older can use Healthy Heart if eligible to be covered by you under Chevron's health plans (although they don't have to be enrolled in a Chevron health plan to participate). Eligible spouses and domestic partners can use all program resources, including telephone coaching. Eligible child dependents age 18 years and older cannot use telephone coaching, but all other program tools and resources are available. Your CAI should be provided to them to allow for registeration on the WebMD website.
If you are eligible to enroll in Chevron's U.S. health plans, but you choose to carry coverage outside of Chevron (or no coverage), you can still participate in Healthy Heart.
If your dependents are eligible to enroll in Chevron's U.S. health plans, but they choose to carry coverage outside of Chevron (or no coverage), they can still participate in Healthy Heart.
You can participate in the Healthy Heart program designed for expatriates in the U.S. As the program is started in other countries outside the U.S., we will provide additional instructions.
Global offshore payroll employees are not eligible for the Healthy Heart program at this time, although we expect to offer the program to you in the future.
No. This program is only available to active U.S.-payroll employees eligible for Chevron's health plans.

health questionnaire

The health questionnaire is voluntary online health risk assessment tool that helps you understand your risk factors and learn about healthy lifestyle choices that help you work toward maintaining a healthy heart and lead a healthy life. Once you've answered all the questions, you will receive a wellness score and a personal report highlighting your risk factors, goals and a suggested action plan to help you make healthy changes. You can take or retake the health questionnaire as often as you like to monitor your health risks over time. Only you, WebMD, Chevron health care plans, and certain third party health care plan vendors will have access to your individual health questionnaire results. The health questionnaire is completely voluntary. You are not required to take it to qualify for health rewards. However, you may be able to earn points toward health rewards  if you take (or retake) the health questionnaire each year.
It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

To get the most accurate results possible, you should come prepared with important health information - your numbers - including:

  • Height
  • Weight
  • Blood pressure level
  • Blood sugar level (can be fasting or non-fasting)
  • Cholesterol and triglyceride values

You do not need your numbers to take the health questionnaire or participate in the program, but you'll receive better results if you do. If you don't know all your numbers, you can still take the health questionnaire and provide the information you have available. Once you have your numbers, you can update your health questionnaire. Here are some ways you can get your numbers.

If you complete the health questionnaire online, you will get your results immediately. You can print a copy of your results for your personal records. If you don't have web access and complete the paper version, you'll receive your results in one to two weeks, depending on your location.
It is your choice to take the health questionnaire or not. And, you can take or retake the health questionnaire as often as you like to monitor your health risks over time. You are not required to take the health questionnaire to qualify for health rewards, but points may be available for completing the questionnaire or from your answers to the questions. Disease history and biometric information (such as your height and weight) are needed to accurately develop a personalized plan to assist you with improving your health.
You'll receive a personalized health action plan with suggestions to help you reduce your risk of disease. The tools and programs available on your Healthy Heart website, along with your health coach, will help you put those plans into action.

There are several ways to contact a health coach. You can schedule a coaching appointment on the WebMD Healthy Heart site. Alternatively, you can call a coach at a time that works for you. From inside the U.S. call 1-888-321-1544 or from outside the U.S. call 925-842-8346.
You can call as many times as you like. Coaches are available Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Central, Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Central, Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Central and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Central.
No, you do not need to take the health questionnaire to speak to a tobacco cessation coach. From inside the U.S. call 1-888-321-1544 or from outside the U.S. call 925-842-8346.
WebMD health coaching is completely voluntary.
You are welcome to preemptively contact the health coaching center to decline their outreach calls after you complete the health questionnaire. Or, simply pick up the phone when you receive a call from the health coaching center and politely decline. You can call WebMD at 1-888-321-1544 (from inside the U.S.) or 925-842-8346 (from outside the U.S.).

confidentiality

Only you, WebMD, Chevron health care plans, and certain third party health care plan vendors will have access to your individual health questionnaire results. Individually identifiable data will only be disclosed in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, as amended ("HIPAA"). Chevron has authorized WebMD to contact employees to invite them to use the website's tools and resources. You can opt out of WebMD communications if you choose. 

Except as explained above, the information that you provide WebMD is available only to you and those you authorize. For instance, if necessary for your own health management, you may wish to share your personal information with others such as your doctor, emergency rooms or other healthcare providers. Please read WebMD's privacy policy for a full explanation as to how your health information will be handled and disclosed by WebMD. Here's a summary of some important points: 

  • Unless permitted by HIPAA, specifically authorized by you, or legally required, WebMD will not release any data in which individuals can be personally identified. As indicated above, Chevron health care plans and certain third party health care plan vendors may have access to your individual health questionnaire results. 
  • WebMD does analyze data and produce reports for client organizations, but only using data collected from large populations of users. Such aggregate data cannot be used to identify any individuals. Clients use aggregate data to better understand the needs of their organization and design appropriate health improvement programs to meet those needs. 
  • WebMD helped create the Hi-Ethics Principles as a founding member of the Hi-Ethics alliance. They are committed to helping consumers improve their health and the health of their families. WebMD has received e-Health accreditation and privacy seal awards from URAC (formerly the American Accreditation HealthCare Commission), TRUSTe and HON for high quality standards and privacy practices.

Disease history and biometric information (such as height and weight) are needed to accurately classify a participant as higher, medium or lower risk and develop a personalized plan to assist them with improving their health. Certain personal information, like your address, is needed so WebMD can ship materials to you if you request them.
