notify your supervisor

Anytime you are absent, notify your supervisor as soon as possible. 

If you are absent for more than 5 days, follow the instructions in the Disability Management Program.


When you are sick or injured and cannot come to work, follow your work group’s process for notifying your supervisor of your absence.

You must also begin the Disability Management process either of the following applies to your absence:

  • You expect to be or have been absent for more than five consecutive workdays. 
  • You are absent for any length of time for a reason that may fall under FMLA or a related state leave law.
